Live Performances

LIVE at the Goats Head Baaa

Though we love writing and performing our own songs, there are a few covers that are so much fun to play. The Rolling Stones Midnight Rambler is one of those songs. Here we are at the Three Brothers Arms Hotel in Macclesfield South Australia in their Goats Head Baaa.

Unrehearsed, we were pleasantly surprised when Mark Hudson showed up with his Saxophone so we invited him to join in.

AXIS Live at the Wreckers

Captured on iPhone by Anita at the Wreckers Live venue at Goolwa.

This was our last song of the performance, the song was Shift the Axis of your world (AXIS). Anita captured the last half of the song.

We pay tribute to the thousands of Afghani and Pakistani cameleers who played an important role in shaping the Australian outback and were referred to as Afghan Cameleers. Principally from Kandahar, Afghan cameleers arrived in Port Augusta and settled in many “Ghan towns” which became part of Australia’s foundation years. One of the most important was Farina Town in South Australia’s far north.

Mark Simpkin

The 1970's, 1980's and to a lesser extent the 1990's were a great time for live music in Adelaide. Performing up to six shows a week was not uncommon. Here is some footage of me during those vibrant times.

The Rolling Stones Influence

Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out, A strong influence

Either Keith Richards rhythm guitar with heavy Chuck Berry nuances and Mick Taylors smooth, soulful and melodic solo's, I was hooked.

THE BEAT BOYS 4 Piece

The BEAT BOYS, originally known as the "Little Rubber Band" formed in 1980, performed mostly as a five (5) piece band but could adjust its line up to cater for smaller events. Here is one of those events that the client kindly captured some footage of us. I've edited it down for quick viewing.

The Little Rubber Band (Floor Show)

The Little Rubber Band, later known as the BEAT BOYS, had its own Floor Show. We had a lot of fun putting it together and performing it. The video and sound have been lifted from an old VHS tape so the quality is quite poor but I hope you get the idea of what we used to do.

The Little Rubber Band
1981 to 1983

We always had a lot of fun in this band as you may well pick up from the vision. Footage is from three shows and I believe the years were between 1981 and 1983
